Directions:
BEGIN:
Tape the pattern pieces together to make one long piece. Cut santa out of plywood or other thin wood. Drill a couple holes where indicated at the top. Transfer the pattern lines to the wood. Paint santa's body Maroon, Light Ivory and Medium Flesh where indicated. Paint a black belt. Using a toothpick or stylus, paint black buttons down the ivory strip when dry. Paint the belt buckle gold. Spackle (using old toothbrush) with watered down Light Ivory paint. Rub stain lightly on all surfaces.
FACE:
Using a toothpick or stylus (or even the handle end of a paintbrush) and black paint, make 2 dots for the eyes. Use a little blush on each cheek.
BEARD:
Using a little piece of the wool hair, make a mustache and glue it right under the eyes. Use a longer piece for the beard (about 7 1/2 or 8 inches long) fold one end under and hot glue the folder under part to the wood about 1/8" under the mustache. Hot glue sporadically down the painted white beard and attach the wool beard fluffing the wool as you go. The wool hair beard will be sitting on top of the painted white beard.
ASSEMBLY:
Put the 14" wire through the holes on the very top and either twist or staple the wire onto the back of his hat. Make a bow using long strands of green and red raffia (4 or 5 strands of each). With a small piece of garland, hot glue the bow and garland to the top point where indicated on pattern. Add 2 pieces of garland to the bottom of the santa (see pattern).
